Rough Waters Ahead

There are two kinds of chemicals, inorganic and organic. The inorganic minerals such as chlorine, aluminum and sodium fluoride, cannot be utilized in a healthy way by the living tissues of the body and can only cause harm. Our body chemistry is composed of 19 organic minerals, which must come from a "living source" or one that was recently once alive. The soil beneath our feet, contains 16 inorganic minerals, our bodies cannot absorb them efficiently enough to sustain life. Plants have this capability, to transform inorganic minerals to useful organic minerals, we do not.


The Halides and Halogens:


The Halogens are a family of nonmetal elements that share chemical properties. Halogens have high chemical reactivity, and can be harmful and lethal to our biological systems. This reactivity is due to its high electronegativity. Halogens gain an electron by reacting with and stealing from atoms of other elements. Halogens are typically present in the environment as compounds, rather than pure elements.

According to Purdue University, Halogens are extremely reactive, which means they are eager to bond with other chemicals.


These atoms have an unpaired electron and act as a free radical. Free radicals are harmful to the body. .Free radicals go around stealing electrons (energy) from other cells. Three of these halogens are toxic to our bodies: fluoride, chlorine, and bromine.


We will learn more about the electrons, and how they are the most important determinant of our health in a later post.


Free Radicals WEAKEN the immune system.


Fluoride, chlorine, and bromine are toxic in themselves, but are also highly detrimental because they tend to block our body's iodine receptors, and therefore prevent our body from absorbing the iodine it needs.

Not only do these react and steal, but also block the absorption of iodine, which we need for normal biological function. Particularly the thyroid, because the thyroid uses iodine to make thyroid horm which in turn are responsible for the body's metabolism and proper bone and brain health. Thyroid issues rob people of their energy. It is interesting to note that there is widespread thyroid imbalance, especially in America. The endocrine glands are responsible for calibrating our system all day long, and when this system is altered, it causes imbalances in the whole system.


Fluoride

Fluorine is naturally occurring inorganic element, and has 9 electrons. When it steals an electron, it has 10, and is referred to as fluoride.

Governments insist that not only is it safe, it is beneficial and necessary. Fluoride is placed in our water and widely used in dental practices and products. However, scientific evidence shows that fluoride is not safe to ingest. Places where fluoride is added to water have higher rates of cavities, cancer, osteoporosis , and dental fluorosis.

Fluoride is known as a toxin that is absorbed rapidly in the bloodstream and negatively impacts the brain, the heart, liver, and kidneys and has caused death in test animals.


Fluoride is more toxic than lead, and a little less toxic than arsenic.😫 (fluoridealert.org, June 20, 2016)


Fluoride is shown to be mutagenic, by causing damage to our genes. (Remember- it’s the environment that up-regulates or down regulates the genes)


Research done at Harvard in the 1990’s with animal studies have shown that fluoride is a neurotoxin and negatively impacts children’s immune systems and lowers the IQ level, but they still use it in our water.

More disturbing uses of fluoride. Fluoride is sprayed onto non-organic food crops as pesticides (fluoridealert.org). Particularly grapes and potatoes. Some fruit juices contain shocking amounts of fluoride, especially grape juices due to fluoride containing insecticides in the grape crops.


It is also used in home insecticides and it is added to municipal water supplies. You can find added fluoride in some bottled water, in many brands of toothpaste, in baby foods, in items like imported tomato products, some fruit juices, process cereals, wine, beer, soda and tea.


Fluoride in drinking water binds with magnesium in our body creating a “nearly insoluble compound” that ends up being deposited in the bones increasing the “brittleness” of bones. Meanwhile about 50% of Americans are magnesium deficient. Only about 50% may be excreted through kidneys, the remainder accumulates in the tissues and impairs our body’s electrical system and communication network. Slowly destroying the body's self repair and rejuvenation capabilities, causing premature aging, bone damage and deformities.


The most disturbing fact is that fluoride has been linked to the causes of thyroid cancer. Fluoride functions by blocking iodine receptors in the thyroid. It tends to increase the level of thyroid stimulating hormone. This activates cancer cells. Thyroid cancer cells are not the only cells activated by fluoride. All hormone related cancers such as breast, ovarian, uterine, prostate, testicular and share the fact that cancer cells are activated by an enzyme which is activated by fluoride.


Doctor Mercola states that the recommended fluoride levels in the US are twice the level at which thyroid function can be affected and thyroid dysfunction is rampant in the US. An estimated 20,000,000 people are affected. Side effects of thyroid dysfunction include weight gain and depression. In China, fluoride is openly acknowledged as a cause of thyroid cancer and many farmers living in fluoride contaminated areas have been moved to safer areas through their government programs.

We know now that calcium fluoride can weaken bones and teeth rather than protect them as we were told. Sodium fluoride, on the other hand is even more destructive than calcium fluoride. Sodium fluoride is added to many public water supplies which are already tainted with aluminum and lead.


Sodium fluoride has been found to weaken the immune system and to damage the kidneys and liver. Some symptoms of sodium fluoride toxicity are like those of Fibromyalgia, including fatigue, muscle pain, memory loss and insomnia. Sodium Fluoride can cause nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and increased thirst.


Another disturbing fact is sodium fluoride carries aluminum across the blood brain barrier where it can be a factor in the development of Alzheimer's disease. Once in the brain the fluoride can calcify the pineal gland, which is responsible for body's production of Melatonin. If we do not have enough Melatonin, this causes all sorts of health disturbances.


Interesting to note that the FDA has NOT approved the use of fluoride in medications, yet these drugs contain fluoride. We know that there's fluoride in certain medications such as antidepressants, antibiotics, cholesterol lowering drugs, chemotherapy drugs, antihistamines, antifungal and even anesthesia.


A glimpse into the history of this bioaccumulative toxin that Americans ingest everyday raises even more questions. Fluorine, "the gangster of the chemical underworld" , made the deadly, atomic bomb possible (Water, The Shocking Truth, Paul C. Bragg, N.D., PhD.).


Declassified US military documents such as the Manhattan Project, the U.S. military group that built the atomic bomb, shows that fluoride is the key chemical USED the atomic bomb production and millions of tons of it were needed for the manufacture of bomb grade uranium and plutonium.

It was discovered, that most of the original "scientific proof" that "fluoride is safe for human consumption" was GENERATED by the SAME scientist making the bombs, who had been secretly ordered to provide "evidence useful in litigation" against defense contractors for fluoride injury to citizens.


The government first began urging municipal water systems to add fluoride in the early 1950s. Unfortunately, fluoride is a cumulative substance and it will continue to increase in our bodies as we continue to adjust it or absorb it. Contrary to what we have been told by the media and the dental industry for decades fluoride is not necessary to keep our teeth healthy.



Most countries reject water fluoridation. Here are a few quotes of the many.

In Belgium, the director of water services said, “This water treatment has never been of use in Belgium and will never be into the future. The main reason for that is the fundamental position of the drinking water sector that is not its task to deliver medicinal treatment to people. This is the sole responsibility of health services.”

Denmark, Klaus Warner of the Royal Danish Embassy in Washington D.C. said “We are pleased to inform you that according to the Danish ministry of environment and energy, toxic fluorides have never been added to the public water supplies."


In France, Louis Sanchez, director of environment and protection said,” Fluoride chemicals are not included in the list of chemicals for drinking water treatment. This is due to ethical as well as medical considerations”.


In Sweden, drinking water fluoridation is not allowed'

Amazingly, the U.S. is only one of five countries in the entire world that fluoridates more than 70% of its drinking water supply.


Fluoride becomes toxic in small amounts in our system and we have no way of knowing how much we get, so checking our water, toothpaste, pharmaceuticals, our processed food and beverages becomes especially important.


More recently, the impact is being seen more and more in our younger generations, our children. Large numbers of Americas young people, up to 80% in some cities, now have dental fluorosis. Dental Fluorosis is the first visible sign of excessive fluoride exposure according to the U.S. National Research Council. These signs are whitish flecks, or spots, particularly on the front teeth, or dark spots and stripes on the teeth. The teeth are also windows to what is happening in the bones, and fluoride accumulates in the bones. There has been an alarming increase in the amount of stress fractures among U.S. young people. As well as a increasing the risk of hip fractures by 41% in adults.


What's important is "our awareness" that inorganic compounds carry some painful health risks at higher doses and being informed helps us make more conscious choices.

CHLORINE

A highly reactive gas in its natural gas form, harmful to human health. It is a respiratory irritant, and was used as a chemical weapon in WW1 due to its toxic properties. There is chlorine in the chicken that people eat, because chicken that comes from the U.S. farms, are often drenched in chlorine to get rid of fecal contamination (livescience.com, Facts about Chlorine).

Water Chlorination is used as a disinfectant to "purify" the water in America since 1904, and the QUALITY of our drinking water is utmost importance in our health and well being.

It appears the research is showing us that although chlorination may prevent the epidemic of some diseases, it is creating, many others! The free radicals in chlorinated water have been linked to liver malfunction and weakening of the immune system.


There is growing evidence that chlorine may unfortunately have a damaging impact on our gut’s beneficial bacteria. Chlorine is a powerful antimicrobial agent and an effective pesticide against many different strains of bacteria, but in return, it is damaging our own gut flora and the lining of the gut. Polluting the gut "cripples" the immune system in our physical body. Bad bacteria in the gut creates neurological issues and communication disturbances. On an energetic level, our sense of "reasoning" and empathy is affected with a diseased or malfunctioning gut.


Research has shown that the cancer risk associated with chlorinated water may relate more to showering and bathing. Chlorine toxicity may be more related to absorption through the skin and through inhalation, versus ingestion of it. Chlorine vapors from a single 10 minute shower have shown to be greater than the amount of chlorine from the average 2 liters of water you may drink. Chlorine vapors you inhale enter directly into our bloodstream. In regards to chlorine, the filtration of our water and bath water may even be more significant than the chlorine found in the water we drink.

Did you know that chlorine is used to make Acetaminophen(Tylenol)? Xanax(one of the most prescribed anti-anxiety medicines)? and Vancomycin?😮

BROMINE

In the U.S, we are exposed to “hidden Bromine” because it is added to our baking products in the form of Potassium Bromate (a dough conditioner). Brominated vegetable oil is also found in soft drinks, such as Mountain Dew. Brominated fire retardants that are used on clothing, carpets and mattresses can release vapors and are inhaled. A new car “smell” is bromine. Bromine also decreases thyroid function.


No fear, no anxiety and no worry. Just be consciously aware and begin to make changes. Every change matters. Especially in regards to the toxic chemicals that have overloaded our bodies.

Here are some ideas to begin with. Remember - we are on a journey to a new lifestyle change, give yourself time and just begin to make one change at a time.


We began with a reverse osmosis filter we purchased at Cosco. We look for water that is in BPA free bottles. The BPA free bottles appear to be heavier and stronger, versus soft and flimsey. There is supposedly less amount of toxins released in the water, when exposed to the heat and sun from the plastic itself.

We choose water that says "reverse osmosis". Sometimes when this is not available, we choose according to packaging and ingredients. We then re-use our BPA free water bottles and fill them up with the reverse osmosis filter at home. Add a pinch of himalayan salt to all the bottles for "those extra 60 minerals", and we travel with these refilled water bottles. At home, we drink our water from glass, stainless steel or copper containers.

Sidenote:
I had three cavities, diagnosed by a doctor in Houston about 6 years ago. I decided to wait and see if changing my health would change my teeth. I only used baking soda, and fluoride free simple toothpaste with some tea tree oil it. Never went to get my teeth clean, for 6 years, and i have never flossed much. I went to the dentist last year for Invisalign, and the doctor said my teeth look healthier and whiter than most. My teeth did not even need a cleaning. More importantly, NO cavities! 😁

Some Considerations:


Purify the Shower and Bath with a chlorine filter. You can also fill the bathtub up and let it sit for a bit, and the "chlorine fumes" dissipate, and less toxic when we sit in it. Same with drinking water, if you can smell chlorine in the water, let it sit for a free minutes, before drinking the water. Also, vitamin C bath powder, reduces chlorine in the bath water.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid powder) removes about 99% of chlorine.


Change your toothpaste - common fluoride levels in toothpaste are 1000 ppm. When fluoride is ingested, about 93% is absorbed into the bloodstream and what is not excreted is deposited in the bones and teeth of the body.


Purify your drinking water. Distilled water only. Our body is at least 70% water, the fluids we CHOOSE to put in our body is of utmost importance, because water filled with inorganic minerals will eventually undermine our health.


Consume fluoride free food. Anything we drink that contains water, we should be aware of. Every small change we can do will add to our quality of life. Small changes add up to bigger changes.


Iodine

Another halogen is iodine, which is the only halogen that the human body needs. Every cell in our body has an iodine receptor. Iodine is a critical nutrient for thyroid health. It is responsible for regulating thyroid function and supporting a healthy metabolism. Iodine is one of our body's most vital nutrients.

When we do not have enough iodine, we may have dry rough and flaky skin. This is a common sign of iodine deficiency. Iodine helps to regulate perspiration so you might experience changes in how you sweat if your iodine levels become imbalanced.


Since sweating is an important detoxification method that our body uses to eliminate toxins, iodine deficiency can disturb the natural way that we flush waste from our body.

Lack of iodine can also cause a dry mouth due to an abnormality in production of saliva, which will impair our digestive process.


Common side effects of an iodine deficiency include fatigue, undesired weight gain or weight loss, hormone imbalances, mood changes, trouble producing saliva, difficulty digesting food, skin problems, poor concentration, poor memory retention, and muscle pains and weaknesses.

The best way to balance iodine is with naturally occurring food and maybe occasional testing if your health requires this. Eat more iodine rich food, especially naturally occurring foods, versus supplementation.

Wild caught seafood, raw unpasteurized dairy products, cage free eggs, cranberries, navy beans, strawberries, potatoes, and tuna. Wild caught seafood and cage free eggs are more likely to contain a higher level of nutrients than farm raised fish or conventionally raised eggs. Sea kelp is great as seaweed concentrates iodine. Consume real salt, such as Himalayan salt or Celtic sea salt as opposed to iodine table salt that has been bleached and processed and added iodine. Sea salt/Himalayan salt contains more than 60 trace minerals and does not pose a risk by overexposing to iodine.


When the water is of poor quality, our mind and body can not function properly, feeling sluggish, bloated,and dehydrated. Distilled, pure water flushes out toxins, improves our overall well-being, help us heal with greater speed, cleanses the liver, kidneys and colon, purifies the blood, lose excess weight and relieves bloating.


The best place to begin is giving our body exactly what it is made of...Water ! Drink Pure Distilled Water






Water Nourishment:💦

Mix distilled water, a pinch of himalayan salt, 1/2 cucumber and a couple drops of stevia. Or juice a half of cucumber and mix it in with ur water.

Mix distilled water with a pinch of himalayan salt, and squeeze a lemon, lime or orange in it and if ya want a couple drops of stevia. 

Mix distilled water with a capful of Apple Cider Vinegar, a pinch of himalayan salt, and a couple drops of stevia.

Your body will thank you. Nourished with clean pure water, and a load of minerals from the cucumbers, lemons, limes and or oranges. Plus the 60 or so minerals from the himalayan salt. The immune system is happy and loves the "live" nourishment that we have choose for it, and will give back what we have put in.
